Fox Racing issued a press release last week warning that the current trend of carving away at the fork brace to accomodate 29 inch wheels would “ultimately separate the lower fork legs at the cross bridge (i.e. the
weakened cross bridge will fracture) and may cause bicycle instability
and crash that result in serious injury or death.”

Has it really come to this?  So if you are an dumb enough to think that the performance advantages of a larger front wheel offset the likilihood that your fork may break in half, please stop taking hacksaws to you bike parts.
