By wooing Liam Killeen from Specialized last week it was only a matter of time until Trek announced their return to World Cup racing.  For much of the past decade, World Cup racing has fallen out of favor amongst sponsors who prefered to focus their efforts on the road or with their national teams.  Of course with road racing struggling to get the doping monkey off its back, a mountain bike revival seems like it may be on the horizon.  Well, its either that or Trek recognizing that the US economy is going down the toilet and they better build up their European presence.   It’s probably the latter. Bummer.
